GreenChoby: Listen/Lyrics

Across the Miles

(written by Carolyn Green)

I touch these leaves, dripping green.  Walk among these trees full of fragrant dreams.  I came here with a mission.  But the cedar only talks of you.  So sends the wind, with it's sweet perfume.

Across the miles.  Across the miles.

I cut the rose from it's own kin.  Broke away those thorns piercing my skin.  I put them in the water.  In a clear glass jar.  Funny how you become near, when you are far.

Across the miles.  Across the miles.

Absence and fondness grows, into a vine of fulfillment.  And you are the one who knows, the Source of it's brilliance.

And when the night mist falls, and tucks me in my bed.  Your apparitions call to make melodies of music in my head.  Like a weary traveler I embrace your mirage.  Can you endear a foolish heart?

From across the miles.
