Hitman

(written by Carolyn Green)

He's a hitman, well seasoned by the marks upon his face, wears his wounds like an old warrior, to keep the others in their place.  He had learned to kill for money and to kill for killing sake.  He had pledged to be found loyal to the demons that he chased.

Well, one afternoon in August, he went looking for his prey.  All he saw was brand new targets for the anger he contained.  So he proudly drew his weapon, but did more than he was told.  It was quite a lot of life to live, for one small eleven-year old.

Chorus: Oh, the little ones, it's the little ones, who grow coldest to the world.  When there is no warmth around them, they surrender to the chill.  When those of us are deaf and numb to the wounds their dyin' of..  It's the little ones who learn everything but love...  Oh, it the little ones who learn everything but love.

Robbie thought he'd be respected by the smoke of that big gun.  But he just turned into a child, terrified and on the run.  When his boss learned of the scandal, and he tasted of the
shame..  Robbie was snuffed out like a candle by the friends he'd thought he'd made..

Chorus 2: Oh, the little ones, its the little ones who die coldest to the world,  when there is no warmth around them, they surrender to the chill.  When those of us are deaf and numb to the wounds their dying of..  It's the little ones who've learned everything but love.. It's the little ones who've learned everything but love..  Oh, it's the little ones who've learned everything but love.
