GreenChoby: Listen/Lyrics

Momma in the Trenches (Isaiah 49:15)

(written by Carolyn Green)

The lyrics:

Growing belly 'neath a flowing shirt Keep your eyes perked toward the sound of you toddler's waking stirs This is a still-shot moment before a busy blur

Mostly you just do the job and not think about how much has changed since The birth of you child began a mother of you And soon you'll be committed to two

Sometimes it's hugs and smiles; sometimes it feels like war Any minute in the trenches can see your evil twin take form You know you have a blessing, but sometimes the blessing bites

And you're the one responsibles for the taming of the tiny tyrant And when you feel tired; there's always so much to do Son't forget you're a child too

You could never forget, you could never regret you own child You will always be bent with mercy toward the one you've born The love that still shines through is heaped and poured on you From the greatest love above, the greatest love.
